1. Can you put a 1500cc head on a 1300cc engine block?
Yes you sure can. It would not be a very good move, since it would lower your compression, making a already weak engine weaker. You can also put a 1100cc head on a 1300cc or a 1500cc engine (better run high octane fuel! :-). You can even put a fuel injected 1500cc head on a non-injected 1300cc engine block, just block the inject ports. Personally I think the best thing to do is put a 1300cc head on a 1500cc block, it rocks!
2. What about putting Yugo parts on a X1/9???
Great way to save money! I have a Yugo alternator on my '76 X1/9, it actually works, unlike the stock one. Also the Yugo starters will work on the 1300cc X1/9s. The other engine parts work also, (i.e. head, etc) Also the front brake discs are the same.
